Why hire a professional writer?
"When professional medical writers help authors prepare
manuscripts, these manuscripts are less likely to be retracted for
misconduct, are more compliant with best-practice reporting
guidelines, and are accepted more quickly for publication.
From Wolley KL, et al. "Poor compliance with reporting research results." Curr
Med Res Opin, 2012.
Read more about what a talented medical writer can
bring to your project.
Let me step in when you don't have the time or
expertise
to compose a compelling, audience-appropriate message.

Biomedical Education
I believe that teachers should inspire their
students to seek answers to problems, by empowering them to acquire new
knowledge and skills along the way. My goal is to engage students
in the learning process through:
- Live discussion
- One-on-one interactions
- Thought-provoking assignments
I am a strong proponent of the backward design
of courses. Drawing upon a broad background in
biomedical engineering and medicine, I would be happy to develop
new courses including Bioethics and
Neuroprosthetics.
Please email me
about teaching seminars and consulting on
course development.
Classes and webinars taught previously:
- Biomedical Engineering Instrumentation Laboratory
- Lasers in Medicine
- Cardiovascular Physiology
- Designing a Clinical Trial
- Introduction to Biostatistics
Recent workshop participation, Feinberg School of
Medicine, Northwestern University:
Curriculum Development for Medical Education
- Provided an understanding of the 6 steps of
curriculum development, the importance of congruence among them, and
how these principles can enhance educational programs
Team-Based Learning
- Learned how to implement TBL format to have small
student teams apply course concepts in application exercises
- Active learning style, enhances problem-solving
skills of students
Large Group Teaching
- Provided with examples of effective teaching methods
for
large classes
- Constructed mock templates for class structure
Feedback and Debriefing in Healthcare Education
- Learned to define performance gaps and use them as
the basis for feedback sessions
- Applied specific communication strategies to foster
learning conversations and reflective practice
