About us

From first data cut to final publication, we bring scientific rigor and strategic thinking to every project. Our medical communications team works at the intersection of science, storytelling, and strategy — helping you turn complex clinical data into clear, compelling content that reaches the right audiences through the right channels.

We ❤️ Science.

We understand the science, and we deliver high-quality, reliable outcomes.

AIM Biomedical Communications helps small–to–mid-sized pharmaceutical and medical device companies clearly explain their data to healthcare professionals – what’s new and why it’s important.

At the center is the founder, Agnella Izzo Matic

Flanked by an extensive network of medical writers, project managers, copyeditors, graphic designers, and medical illustrators, to provide clients with an agency-like experience minus the overhead.

Hello! I’m Agnella (pronounced on-YEL-la) Izzo Matic, PhD, CMPP, a STEM enthusiast.

I founded AIM Biomedical Communications in 2012 as a freelance medical writer, driven by a passion for education and the art of communicating science - and have since grown it organically into the nimble, expert agency it is today.

A Connecticut native, I hold a PhD in Biomedical Engineering from Northwestern University and a BE in Biomedical Engineering from Vanderbilt University, and before turning my focus fully to medical communications, I served as a tenure-track professor at Northwestern’s Feinberg School of Medicine. When I’m not immersed in data and manuscripts, you’ll find me lacing up my hiking boots or out on the water paddleboarding – any excuse to be active and outdoors.
